Read to Review- The Journey of the Marked (The Miyran Heir #1)

Title: Journey of the Marked
Author: Rebecca P. McCray
Series: The Miyran Heir #1
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:

On a distant planet, Eros thrives in the Human settlement he calls home. Raised to follow his grandfather's noble footsteps, he studies the details of each species that co-exists here. But when his sixteenth birthday arrives and the mark appears, he's called to fight, which changes his life forever.

Forced to abandon his home, the mark makes him the hunted. He's attacked the night he arrives in the city, but a scrappy, street fighter named Kenrya saves his life. When they join others on the same journey, her less-than-perfect attitude drives a wedge between the group.

Given the perils facing them, can they put aside their differences and trust each other long enough to survive?

Discover this epic, dystopian adventure where an individual's unique abilities can change the course of the future.

My Review:

I was gifted an ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved everything about this book, the only complaint I have is that it came to an end and I have to wait for the next book.
The different points of view were great they helped give the world a well rounded view and with all the different reaces living on Zolei having a point of view from many of them helped me learn about their culture and how they fit into this wonderful world, I also liked how it gave so much history without getting boring. The struggle between the Tyrnott and Miyran was very interesting and I am very curious about the Miyran heir and who it is, although I do have my suspicions guess I'll have to wait to see if I am right.
I fell in love with the group of the marked ones and I don't think its possible for me to pick a favorite, all from different walks of life with different skills, they were great as a group but also as individuals:
"Yes, together, you're stronger. Together you may survive."
And getting points of view from the marked ones families gave an even more well rounded view making me more attached to them and their success.
"They were marked at the same time and brought together for a reason. He hoped they lived long enough to fulfill that destiny."

This was a fantastic read, I'm so excited to continue this series and dive back into this amazing world that I not so secretly wish was a real place I could visit.
